Aleure

Aleure designs and manufactures rugs and brings the mystique of the ancient tradition of hand-knotted Tibetan rugs into high style and luxury.

Aleure Tibetan rugs are made to order directly from the hands of the most skilled Tibetan artisans in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal using centuries old “crossed” weaving techniques.

They use only the finest quality raw materials: pure Tibetan wool, Chinese silk, Cashmere (Pashmina), Linen, Yak, Hemp, Cactus, Nettle, Banana silk, Bamboo silk and Mohair.

The material is meticulously hand-carded, hand-spun, and pot-dyed with either Swiss or vegetable dyes. Every rug is masterfully hand-knotted (from 60 up to 500 knots), hand-trimmed, hand-washed and hand-finished.

Each rug develops a radiant patina and grows more beautiful with time as Tibetan wool’s rich lanolin creates enhanced lustre and softness over the years. Aleures’ goal is to create beautiful, extraordinary quality hand-knotted rugs of enduring value. Presented here are a few samples of designs from their collections.

We invite you to contact us for additional rug designs or inquiries about custom projects. Custom sizes, and colours of Aleures’ luxurious heirloom quality rugs are available up to 16.5mt x 32 metres.

Available in standard sizes from 1.8 metres x 2.7 metres, or 3.6 metres x 5.4 metres. Aleure are a proud member of the Rugmark Foundation, a global non-profit organisation, working to end child labour. It guarantees that no child labour is used in their rug productions. Every Aleure rug carries the Rugmark label with its own verifiable certification number. It represents Aleure’s commitment to manufacturing integrity; particularly, ending child labour, an illegal practice in the hand-knotted rug industry.
